    JENNY, JUNO

Saw this over the weekend. I've read about this movie months back and I remember not getting that particular itch to look forward to its pirated release. Wihi. Hat tlgang pirated release eh noh?! *hiya*

Lalang. The story is pretty simple. Girl gets preggerz. Guy gets scared but tries hard to play the part of responsible daddy-to-be. But then, here's the thing: They're both just 15. *taob*

I have no bones to pick with unplanned pregnancies and raging hormones pero mehn... Fifteen?! Aigooo aigooo! *Manang Mowd* I know, i know. It's just a movie. But ya know, these kinds of incidents really do happen beyond the silverscreen. *kunotnoo* And before I go off and veer in an all too serious rant, I'll just ko back to the movie. Hehe.

Apart from the charming leads, Park Min Ji (Jenny) and Kim Hye Sung (Juno), there really is nothing much I liked about the film in the reco worthy sense. Ok fine, they get pregnant. Anjan na yan eh. Then they kept it a secret from their folks. They waited till they had no choice but to tell their folks about their situation. By then, Jenny was far along na, as in 6 months na. Arasso, I get the part na ayaw nila sabihin agad dahil baka i-force sila to have an abortion. Pero waaaah, dangerous kaya magbuntis! Aigooo! >.<

Had this been an ordinary teenage romance minus the pregnancy, I'd have enjoyed more the sweety scenes they shared. Hangkyut nilang dalawa sobra. As in sumobra nga eh! =)) But alas, I could not ignore the feeling na "may mali eh" as I was watching. Parang ganito rin yung feeling ko when I was watching My Little Bride and Moon Geun Young was "cheating" on her "fake" husband. Granted na the marriage was arranged lang, it was still biatchy of her to make a mockery of their union and break cute sushi boylet's heart in the process as well. Lam mo yung feeling na hindi ko ma-enjoy yung most part of the movie and take the scenes just as they are kasi you know na it'll all come back to bite their asses in the end? Yun. Ganun din feeling ko sa Jenny, Juno.

PMJ kinda reminds me of MGY. Hawig ba? Ewan. Or baka dhil sa pagka-sassy nung characters din. Then there's KHS... waaaah.. kyoootie nya! Azin I wanna make kuwot his cheeks kinda cute! *giggles* He's even "prettier" than PMJ (nyihi) but they do make a beatimous pair.

I'm looking forward to future projects nitong dalawang toh. ^.^

Aside from chuckle-worthy moments here and there, me familiar faces din sa mubi! Yung umma ni Kevin sa Stained Glass eh umma ni Juno. Tas isa dun sa kaberks ni Jenny eh yung patawang lil sis ni Eun Chae sa MiSa. Wihi.

If you can take the film for its entertainment value alone, which means setting aside inherent moral biases and whatnots, then this movie might work for you. ^_^
